Meet Dr. Pearson
Dr. Pearson is a board-certified interventional pain specialist who has been in practice for over 20 years. She has been especially interested in regenerative medicine for the past 10 years and has received formal training in this field with the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians.
Dr. Pearson participates regularly in advanced coursework and conferences in the field of regenerative medicine as a requirement for affiliation with Regenexx. This assures you of the most advanced, comprehensive, and effective regenerative treatment available in the United States.
Throughout her career, Dr. Pearson has been known as an excellent diagnostician. As a patient, you can expect a thorough history and physical exam that typically takes 45 minutes to an hour to complete. You can also expect Dr. Pearson to really listen to your story because she understands that your description of the problem combined with her expertise reveals the diagnosis often before any other imaging or testing is even done.
While most doctors rely on the radiologist's report of a patient's imaging, Dr. Pearson prefers to see the images. Radiologists often fail to mention subtle findings that signal painful conditions, as their reports are geared more to the surgeons. You can expect Dr. Pearson to show you your images and explain what they mean in terms you can understand. Together, you and Dr. Pearson will develop the treatment plan that best suits your unique condition.
You can also expect Dr. Pearson to empathize with your pain. Dr. Pearson has degenerative disc disease herself. After epidural steroid injections quit working for her pain in the fall of 2019, she researched the best regenerative medicine alternatives available and ultimately settled on treatment at the Centeno-Shultz Clinic in Denver, where the first spinal stem cell injection in the world was performed in 2005. Drs. Centeno and Shultz are the founders of Regenexx.
After a simple blood draw, her back was injected with platelet-rich plasma and platelet lysate according to the Regenexx degenerative disc protocol. The pain was minimal and after resting a few hours, she was able to take a red-eye flight back to Savannah that night. Her pain gradually improved over the next six weeks to less than 10% of the pre-procedure pain. She was able to resume the activities she loves, including traveling, boating, gardening, and foreign medical mission work.
